UPDATED NATIONAL COURSE APPLICATION PROCESS
CADETS APPLYING TO NATIONAL COURSES THIS YEAR - the application process has changed! A narrative no longer needs to be submitted as one of the required documents. This goes for all National courses, including glider, power, and IACE applicants! This Sunday our squadron will be heading to the Niagara District Airport for gliding. Transportation and lunch will be provided to all cadets. Feel free to bring snacks though! Please wear appropriate civilian attire for the weather, and possibly something to sit on, as you'll be sitting in a field beside the runway for most of the day! Starting tomorrow at 6:00 pm in the Legion, we will be beginning our flag party tryouts. Everyone is welcome, regardless of rank, experience, or age, come and see what flag party is all about! TAGGING
Tagging is our primary source of income and is a mandatory fundraising activity. The money we raise helps support all our extra events and activities, on top of regular training. Cadets are required to dress in their full uniform. They will be outside for their shift, so dress for the weather. Ground School is a unique opportunity designed to teach cadets the basics of pilot theory and prepare them to write the entrance exam for both the Glider Pilot and Power Pilot Scholarships. Starting at the age of 16 Air Cadets are offered the opportunity to apply to a flying scholarship to get their Pilots License for Free!!!! UPDATE: How to Register for the Aviation Expo
As per our last post, you should know that the Careers in Aviation Expo 2019 is completely free for cadets using code CADET19. The expo itself is on Saturday September 21st from 8am-3:15pm and ground school is being moved to the following Sunday to accommodate cadets wishing to attend both. Careers in Aviation Expo 2019
On September 21st, the 715 Mohawk Squadron has been invited to attend the Careers in Aviation Expo absolutely free! Using the code CADET19, you can get your ticket through Eventbrite free of charge. Ground school will commence the following Sunday, the 22nd, to enable those interested to attend both events. The Expo will be held in the WestJet Hangar at Pearson Airport, from 8am-3:15pm.
