Cadet Legion Medal of Exellence

Do you feel you are deserving of this prestigious award? Please write the staff a 1-2 page letter describing why you fit the requirements (seen below) for this Award. These letters are due March 7th to the Staff. Remember we are look for an exemplary cadet and citizen who involved themselves in their local community.

Royal Canadian Legion Cadet Medal of Excellence Recognizes individual endeavours of a citizenship nature which meet or enhance the aims and objectives of the cadet organizations.

To be eligible for consideration, a cadet must meet the following conditions:

● met all requirements of the corps/sqn annual mandatory and optional training programs; ● participated in a minimum of three community service events, in addition to those supported by the cadet corps/sqn; ● regarded by peers and superiors as exemplifying the model cadet; and ● enhanced the cadet corps/sqn through: o cooperation with peers and subordinates, o comradeship, o promoting goodwill and morale within the corps/sqn, o aiding in the development of group identity and cohesiveness, o supporting and assisting fellow unit members, and o his/her involvement in the local community.

Each Air Cadet Squadron may award one RCLCME each training year, provided a worthy candidate is available. The main theme in awarding the RCLCME is to emphasize the citizenship aspects of the Cadet program. The Squadron Commanding Officer is the approving authority for the award of the medal, but he is encouraged to seek the active participation of the local Legion authorities and the recommendations of the Squadron Sponsoring Committee. The RCLCME will ormally be presented by a suitable Legion representative at the Squadron’s annual ceremonial review.
